Professional Experience
I began my professional career in law enforcement agencies and subsequently worked as a legal adviser to a major company. In 2002, I was admitted to the bar and commenced legal practice as a member of the Sverdlovsk Regional Bar Association.
In the course of his legal practice, I have been involved in complex and high-complexity cases, representing major corporate and private clients across various regions of the Russian Federation.
My practice included multi-episode and cross-border matters, as well as coordination of legal teams in complex proceedings.
From 2014 to 2018, I successfully represented the interests of the United States Department of State in proceedings and legal matters conducted within the Russian Federation.
In 2019, I represented the interests of the Federal Republic of Germany in legal matters in the Russian Federation.
I have also represented foreign organisations and individuals in Russia, including in cases involving cross-border legal issues, criminal-law aspects, and international cooperation.
As part of my professional activity, I have participated in matters related to international search and cooperation mechanisms involving INTERPOL, and have organised and coordinated the work of multiple foreign legal teams from different jurisdictions.
In 2008, I founded the law firm LOYS and subsequently played an active role in the development of its organisational and regional structure. Under my leadership, a nationwide network of offices was established, covering key regions of the country — from Kaliningrad to Vladivostok.
From 2017 to 2025, I was engaged in academic teaching at the Ural State Law University named after V. F. Yakovlev (Yekaterinburg).
In 2021, I was appointed Associate Professor at the Department of Criminal Law of the Ural State Law University.
In 2023, I was appointed Professor at the Department of Criminal Law of the same university.
In 2025, my academic teaching activities were suspended due to the commencement of academic research abroad
Academic Background and Education
In 2013, I was awarded the degree of Candidate of Legal Sciences (PhD equivalent) in Criminal Law and Criminology.
Dissertation topic: “Criminal-Law Protection of Intellectual Property in the Russian Federation.”
In 2022, I was awarded the degree of Doctor of Legal Sciences in Criminal Law.
Dissertation topic: “The Criminal-Law Model for the Protection of Telecommunications against Criminal Offences: Theoretical and Practical Issues.”

In 2017, I was appointed Senior Lecturer.
In 2021, I was appointed Associate Professor at the Department of Criminal Law.

I graduated in 1999 from the Ural Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation (Yekaterinburg) with a degree in Law.
In 2007, I completed advanced professional training at the Institute of Advocacy (Moscow) in criminal and civil law.
In 2012, I completed studies in Financial Management at the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics.
International Professional Experience and Memberships
I have been a member of the International Bar Association (IBA) since 2012, where I am affiliated with the Criminal Law Committee and the Anti-Corruption and White Collar Crime Committee.
From 2018 to 2022, I was elected as an Officer of the IBA Criminal Law Committee.
I am also a member of the International Society of Criminology (ISC) — one of the world’s oldest criminological organisations, founded in 1938.
In 2019, I was elected to the Board of Directors of the International Society of Criminology at the ISC Congress held in Doha (Qatar).
In 2024, within my work with the International Society of Criminology, I presented key theses of his doctoral research on cybercrime at the United Nations, during the 6th session of the UN Ad Hoc Committee.
The process resulted in the adoption of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime, adopted by the UN General Assembly on 24 December 2024 (Resolution 79/243), the first comprehensive global treaty in this field.
Language Training and Certification
I have continuously enhanced my language proficiency through formal training.
In 2014 and 2025, I completed programmes in English for University at the International Language School in Auckland, New Zealand.
In 2024, I completed a series of intensive German language courses at the Goethe-Institut in Dresden, successfully passing the required language examinations and obtaining the corresponding certificates.
Current Professional Status
As an Attorney-at-law admitted in the Russian Federation, I have successfully completed the admission procedure and am admitted to the Saxon Bar Association (Rechtsanwaltskammer Sachsen) as a foreign lawyer (Advokat) pursuant to § 206 of the German Federal Lawyers’ Act (BRAO).
Professional liability insurance is in place in accordance with § 51 BRAO (insured with ALLCURA Versicherungs-AG, confirmed on 12 December 2025).
